Section 2 | Specific Methods for Cultivating Belief

As we discussed in the previous section:

Sustaining long-term belief is the most difficult and critical lesson in the entire Divine Success Study.

Belief cannot be maintained by "persistence," nor can it be generated by momentary "enthusiasm";

Belief can only be continuously generated through "being present with God."

Therefore, in this section, we will deconstruct "remaining in me" taught by Jesus into a system of cultivation that can be executed daily,

Allowing everyone to turn "belief" from an emotion into a state of being.

The goal of this section is:

Through operable methods, allow yourself to "detach" from the automatic operation of the subconscious every day and reposition yourself in the consciousness of Jesus.

Make belief a natural breath, rather than a difficult struggle.

1. Intuitive Scripture Reading: Let His Words Dwell in You

(Corresponding to Jesus’s words: "If my words remain in you.")

Many people read the scriptures to:

  • Seek knowledge
  • Seek doctrine
  • Seek principles
  • Seek comfort
  • Or even to write articles or do research

These are not problems, but none of them are the core of "Intuitive Scripture Reading."

The sole purpose of Intuitive Scripture Reading is to let the words of Jesus penetrate your heart, connect with your life experiences, and allow Him to speak directly to your subconscious.

Here are the five key principles of Intuitive Scripture Reading:

Principle 1: Not for Knowledge, but for Connection You are not studying the Bible; you are in a dialogue with Jesus.

Intuitive Scripture Reading is not "research," but "presence."

Therefore:

  • Do not seek to memorize.
  • Do not seek to understand.
  • Especially do not seek to form a system.Distinct from the academic study in seminaries, our goal is not to "study the Bible thoroughly," but to let Jesus's words dwell in the heart, becoming the language of your life rather than your knowledge material.

Principle 2: Start from the Simplest, Most Core Part—The Four Gospels Because Divine Success Study relies on Grace and on Jesus, you can read only the New Testament.

You can bypass the Old Testament and start directly with the Four Gospels, as those contain the words spoken by Jesus Himself.

Once you become familiar, read other parts of the Bible according to your interest.

The reading principles are:

  • Do not seek speed.
  • Do not seek progress.
  • Do not seek to "finish."Read casually. When you reach a sentence that touches you, stop and ask yourself:"Is this sentence speaking to me right now?" A "touch" means God’s word has entered your heart. Therefore, Intuitive Scripture Reading is usually an extremely slow reading, as every touch will make you stop.

Principle 3: The Purpose is Not Familiarity, but Resonance Reading is not to "know what Jesus said," but to feel what Jesus is saying to you right now. What you find in the scriptures is not knowledge, but your own reflection.

Principle 4: Everything Centers on the "Sense of Resonance" Resonance means the text has triggered a feeling in your heart.

Especially when you place the scriptures alongside your life experiences, those words will suddenly "come alive."

  • "This sentence is so right; it has solved a confusion I've had for years."
  • "Jesus truly understands me."
  • "I am finally at peace."
  • Or suddenly remembering many past events, even weeping, or being so excited you pace back and forth.In short, having emotions is truly "eating and drinking" the words of Jesus. When the scriptures connect with your life, the subconscious is naturally updated.

Principle 5: From Realization Back to Scripture, From Scripture Deepening Realization ——Forming a cycle of "Realization—Verification—Re-reading—Deepening." When you suddenly have a realization about life or a new insight, you can immediately check:

"Are there words in the Bible similar to my realization?" Then return to the original text to read carefully. This cycle makes the scriptures truly your life language.

Principle 6: Utilize AI Tools and the Internet Now with AI language models, if we have a sudden realization, we can use them to query the meaning and explanation of scriptures. If we encounter something unclear, we can ask the AI directly. This allows us to understand the details of the scriptures at any time.

Also, be good at utilizing the internet; find scripture reading forums and see how other believers understand them. This not only enhances understanding but also allows you to see the "fellowship" of other brothers and sisters.

Real-life Examples of Intuitive Scripture Reading

These are the methods I use myself.

The first time I heard: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." At that moment, I was suddenly touched—a feeling of "finally belonging" surged up. Someone finally promised us rest.

Or hearing: "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." At that moment, I saw the light. I finally found the answer I had sought for years—this sentence is the root of the Divine Success Study in this book.

I read the Four Gospels very slowly. Often, I read one sentence and stop to think for a long time. Many past events surface, and I suddenly understand the layers of meaning Jesus truly intended to express. I can’t help but pick up my phone and write down all my realizations.

I have also seen believers realize Grace when reading "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good," weeping on the spot and immediately returning to the Lord.

Another time, I read Jesus saying: "Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be." At that moment, I seemed to see Jesus welcoming me in the light on the last day of my life. What surfaced in my heart was: "Lord, I have finally finished the task you entrusted to me." Subsequently, a current-like energy rose from the top of my head, flowing to my eyes and shoulders. My hands were trembling as I typed, and tears would not stop falling. This current lasted for half an hour.

Therefore: Intuitive Scripture Reading is not a technique, not knowledge, not scholarship, but an experience, a feeling, and a way of life present with Jesus.

2. Working with God (Three-Step Method): Handing Over, Believing, Gratitude

(Combined with the "Small-Thing Verification Method")

If Intuitive Scripture Reading is "letting His words enter your heart," then Working with God is when you begin to interact with Him in reality.

The three steps are very simple:

  1. Handing Over (Let Go) 2. Believing (Enter the State) 3. Gratitude (Thank You) These are the specific steps of the "Small-Thing Verification Method" and the core actions for sustaining belief. When combined with Intuitive Scripture Reading, they form a complete path for generating belief:
  • The realizations you read must be practiced in life;
  • What you cannot practice by yourself, hand over to Jesus;
  • The update after handing over is completed by Him within you.

Why is it hard for the Subconscious to directly practice the words of Jesus?

Many of Jesus’s teachings (e.g., love your neighbor, forgive, do not worry) generate resistance in our as-yet-un-updated subconscious because it still operates on:

  • Old structures of scarcity
  • Old self-protection mechanisms
  • Old fearful judgments of the world

This is why the Three-Step Method is necessary: We cannot practice Jesus’s words by relying on the Ego; we can only let Him dwell in us through handing over, believing, and gratitude.

True Update is Not Understanding, but the Entry of Grace

We must both read the scriptures and practice Jesus’s teachings; but what truly changes the subconscious is not "understanding," but the feeling after Grace enters. Therefore, we do two things:

  1. Practice Jesus’s words: e.g., actively express kindness, reconcile, or give.
  2. Through prayer, handing over, believing, and gratitude, let God generate a response in your heart.

Every time after practicing, your:

  • Small peace
  • Small smoothness
  • Small joy
  • Small breakthroughThese emotional Graces are the Fruit of the Spirit. They will enter your subconscious bit by bit, loosening the old structures.

Relationship with Small-Thing Verification: Two Sources of Belief Working Simultaneously

  • Small-Thing Verification Method: Asking Jesus to achieve small things you want → Obtaining external small Graces → Strengthening belief.
  • Three-Step "Working with God" Method: Practicing Jesus’s words → Generating internal updates and emotional Grace (peace, joy) → Letting Jesus dwell in your heart.

The goal of both is consistent: to make your subconscious find it easier to believe.

Every time in life you are willing to pray, to hand over, to practice Jesus's words, and to receive the Fruit of the Spirit, you are performing a "workout for your belief muscles." And when you simultaneously continue "Small-Thing Verification," it’s as if you are providing more "nutrients" for these muscles—pushing from both outside and inside.

3. Prayer and Meditation: Making the Day a Rhythm of Breathing Belief

(1) Morning Proclamation —— Establishing the tone of belief for the day The first thing upon waking is to align the heart with God. Gently say to Him:

"Lord, please help me have belief today; let me dwell in You." This tells your subconscious: Today I do not rely on myself, but on Him. This proclamation is the "start button" for the day’s belief structure.

(2) Writing Down Today’s Hand-Overs —— Clearing the Ego Write down the most important things for today:

  • What will I hand over today?
  • What am I most worried about?
  • What do I want God to work with me on?Writing is an entrance to the subconscious. When you write these down, you are transferring the sovereign control of the day from the "Ego" to Him.

(3) Mid-day Confronting Doubt —— Awareness, Stopping, Realizing, Re-handing Over Doubt will definitely appear at noon or in the afternoon.

When doubt appears: You do not need to resist, drive it away, or deny it. Just meditate for two minutes and ask:

"Does this doubt come from me, or from fear?" Then, pray gently again and re-hand it over. This cycle of Doubt → Meditation → Realization → Re-handing Over is the true foundation of belief.

(4) Evening Review of Witnesses —— The most critical moment for belief Meditate for at least five to ten minutes before sleep. Review:

  • Where did I almost lose belief today?
  • How was I reminded or guided?
  • What "tiny Graces" appeared in small things?Even if it's just the elevator arriving on time, say: "Thank you." Gratitude is the action of "writing" today’s Grace into the "hard drive" of the subconscious. Keep a record of Grace every day:
  • The subconscious will believe more and more;
  • The more it believes, the easier prayers are fulfilled;
  • The easier prayers are fulfilled, the more naturally you dwell in God.This is a self-reinforcing closed loop of belief.

Section Summary

Sustaining belief is not a "psychology problem," but a spiritual rhythm. The three major methods in this section—Intuitive Scripture Reading, Three-Step Working with God, and Daily Prayer/Meditation—constitute the core triangular system for sustaining belief:

  1. Reading: Letting His words enter your heart.
  2. Action & Practice: Letting you interact with Him in reality.
  3. Meditation & Prayer: Making the day a cycle of belief.

When these three operate daily, you enter the state Jesus described:

"If you remain in me and my words remain in you." From that moment on:

  • Belief no longer needs effort to maintain;
  • Belief will grow by itself;
  • Belief will become a natural attribute of your life.

You will no longer be "someone struggling to believe," but someone naturally existing within belief.
