42 | Justification and Sanctification

42 | Justification and Sanctification

Salvation is not a one-time event; it is a tri-stage Divine structure: Justification (Establishment of Identity), Sanctification (The Work of the Spirit), and Final Righteousness (The Ultimate Confirmation). These are not contradictions but three dimensions of the same path.

I. Justification: The Beginning—Being Renamed by Faith

Justification is not the claim that "I have become perfect," but rather: God declares me righteous. It is an "imputed righteousness"—a new identity granted by Christ. You are "renamed" at the starting point.

II. Sanctification: The Formation—The Natural Fruit of the Spirit

After Justification, the Holy Spirit enters. Once the Spirit dwells within, righteous acts occur naturally. It is not about striving to be a "good person"; it is the natural result of a changed nature. As Jesus said: "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit." Actions do not prove how good you are; they prove whether your faith is real. Sanctification is the process of the life being shaped.

III. Final Righteousness: The Completion—Ultimate Confirmation

Final Righteousness is the end of the journey. It is not "earning salvation through works," but God confirming whether you truly belong to Christ. "By their fruit you will recognize them" (Matthew 7:20). If the fruit is real, the faith was real. The final judgment reveals the reality of your identity in Christ.

IV. The Inner Structure: Faith as the Start, Righteousness as the Fulfillment

A perfect formula: Faith is the beginning of righteousness; righteousness is the completion of faith. They are mutually causative, with the Holy Spirit as the bridge. Faith → Connection to Christ → Entry of the Spirit → Natural Outflow of Righteousness → Final Confirmation.

V. Why Doing Good is Not "Salvation by Works"

Doing good is the outward manifestation of "who you are." Faith leads to Rebirth; Rebirth leads to a Changed Life; a Changed Life leads to Fruit. Fruit is not the condition of salvation; it is the evidence of it.

Summary | Original Doctrine 42

  1. Justification is the identity; Sanctification is the process; Final Righteousness is the manifestation.
  2. In Justification, God calls you righteous; in Sanctification, the Spirit makes you righteous; in Final Righteousness, God confirms you are righteous.
  3. The Line of Salvation: Faith → Justification → Entry of the Spirit → Sanctification (Works) → Judgment → Final Righteousness.

The Final Word: Faith is the root; Righteousness is the fruit. You are not saved by your fruit, but you are not truly saved without it. Righteousness is the proof that the King has truly taken up residence in the house of your soul.
