59|Love: The Greatest Gift and Ultimate Antidote

Scripture says: “God is love.” (1 John 4:8). It also says: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5). In a world saturated with hate, comparison, fear, and struggle, Love is not a feeble emotion but a force from God—it is the greatest gift brought by Jesus Christ and the ultimate antidote to heal all human sin and suffering.

This article aims to explain:

  1. Why human civilization is trapped in hate, comparison, and struggle;
  2. Why Jesus entering the world with Love is an unprecedented revolution;
  3. Why Love is the only path to rebuilding the mindset of the Kingdom.

(1) Why Humanity Lost Love: The Culture of Comparison Makes Men "Hateful and Hating One Another"

After eating the fruit of knowledge, humanity entered an inverted world structure: Comparison → Scarcity → Fear → Struggle → Hate → Hating one another. Paul said: "At one time we too were foolish, disobedient... hateful and hating one another." (Titus 3:3). The bottom logic of the world is often:

  • Man does not start from love, but from comparison;
  • Comparison manufactures superiority and inferiority, both of which are full of fear;
  • Fear drives struggle, and struggle gives birth to mutual hatred;
  • Human civilization runs on a "structure of hate" rather than a "structure of love." Humanity’s pursuit of success and glory is, in essence, a pursuit of who is more terrifying, who can cause more harm, and who is better at destruction. This is the civilization of Sin, not of God.

(2) Jesus Brings the "Revolution of Love": A Total Reversal of Civilization’s Understanding of Power

In most cultures, the symbols of power are: slaughter, control, conquest, revenge, intimidation, authority, and war. The "heroes" humanity worships are often those who can "harm the most enemies." Jesus entered history in the opposite way:

  • He conquered strength with weakness, and revenge with forgiveness;
  • He conquered violence with gentleness, and conquest with suffering;
  • He possessed infinite power yet used it to harm no one;
  • He could destroy His enemies yet chose to love them;
  • He could take revenge yet chose to pardon;
  • He could control yet chose to serve;
  • He could exalt Himself yet chose the Cross. For the first time, humanity saw: true power is not the ability to harm, but to love; true ability is not conquering others, but transcending the self; true glory is not exalting oneself, but sacrificing oneself to complete others.

(3) Love is the First and Most Fundamental "Healing Medicine" Given by God

The first law of the Kingdom brought by the Incarnate Jesus is: replace hate with love, and revenge with forgiveness. Because:

  • Revenge only amplifies hate;
  • Hate only manufactures more hate;
  • Comparison only manufactures more scarcity;
  • Scarcity only manufactures more fear;
  • Fear only manufactures more self;
  • The self only manufactures more sin. Only Love has the power to sever this entire chain of sin. Thus Jesus said: “A new command I give you: Love one another.” (John 13:34). This is His greatest weapon, greatest gift, and greatest power.

(4) Love is the Only Path to Lead Man Back to the Mindset of the Kingdom

The world is built on the "structure of hate": hate, comparison, scarcity, fear, struggle, and revenge. God’s world is built on the "structure of love": grace, abundance, peace, forgiveness, gentleness, and joy. To move from the world into the Kingdom, the only entrance is Love.

  • Hate comes from the dividing mind; Love comes from the Holy Spirit;
  • Hate is born of the self; Love is born of God;
  • Hate issues from scarcity; Love issues from abundance;
  • Hate belongs to this world; Love belongs to the Kingdom. What Jesus brought was not just a set of doctrines, but a reconstruction project for the human heart.
