Original Doctrine 01 | God Said, "Let There Be Light"

The Book of Genesis records: “And God said, Let there be light.”

To the modern mind, this may seem a simple Sunday-school verse. In reality, it is the singular point of departure for Holy Scripture, human civilization, and the very logic of the universe. It is not mere poetry, nor a vague metaphor; it is a complete, absolutely precise, cosmic-level Commandment of Creation.

We shall examine this through four distinct lenses:

I. What Light Is: The Framework of the Universe, Not a Light Source

When God commanded, "Let there be light," He was not speaking of the visible light perceived by our eyes, much less the sun, the stars, or the torch. In the Genesis narrative, the sun was not created until the fourth day. The "light" of the first day (Hebrew: Or) is independent of any celestial body.

We must understand this "Light" as: Light = The Fundamental Structure of the Cosmos = The Spacetime Framework = The Essential Parameters for Existence.

• Light is not merely energy; it is the "element" of spacetime.
• Light is not a tool for illumination, but the foundational scaffolding by which the universe is measured and operated.

This resonates deeply with the core axioms of contemporary physics:

• Time is defined in relation to the speed of light.
• Space is measured against the benchmark of the speed of light.
• To transcend the speed of light is to transcend spacetime itself.
• The universe cannot exceed the speed of light because light is not a "speed" in the ordinary sense; it is the "skeleton" of the cosmos.

Just as the architecture of a pipe dictates the maximum flow of water, the structure of Light dictates the maximum rate of change within the universe. Thus, the true meaning of "Let there be light" is: Let there be a cosmic framework; let there be an order to spacetime; let there be a world that can be known, measured, and experienced.

Before this command, God created "the heavens and the earth," and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Since the sun and stars appeared later, two interpretations emerge:

First: The "Earth" here is not the planet, and the "Heavens" are not the sky above our heads. "Water" is not the H₂O we drink, for the Earth formed far later than the sun. In ancient Near Eastern culture, water symbolized primordial chaos or unordered potential. We may view this "Water" as an undefined primordial probability stream—the raw database awaiting activation by a Prompt. To begin His creation, God prepared His materials: Heaven, Earth, Water, and the Spirit. The hovering Spirit proves that God pre-existed the work of Genesis.

Second: Before the creation of the linear spacetime we recognize, there existed a "Beginning before the Beginning"—a mathematical point outside our dimensions. God, through the prompt "Let there be light," utilized the materials of a higher-dimensional realm to build a new spacetime framework and reassemble those materials according to a new cosmic structure.

Whichever interpretation one holds, both affirm that God exists outside our specific spacetime. Before the "Mathematical Point" pursued by modern technology, there is a Trans-Spacetime. God transcends all such dimensions, providing a perfectly harmonious explanation between the Divine and astronomical science.

II. "God Said": The First Cosmic Prompt

The second core truth is that the "Speaking" is itself the act of creation. God’s "speech" was not a sound wave, a syllable, or a written word; it was an ontological act—the very first Prompt entered into the universe.

To use a contemporary analogy: If the universe were an ultimate intelligent system millions of years beyond our current technology, then "God said, Let there be light" would be the first Prompt ever issued to that system.

This Prompt possesses a perfect structure:

• Subject: Who is speaking—God;
• Context: The state of non-spacetime before creation;
• Action: How it is executed—"Said";
• Object: What is to be generated—"Light."

Every principle of a modern AI Prompt—Subject, Action, Object, Context—is present here. This demonstrates that:

• The universe was not an accident; it was initiated by Language.
• Language is not a human invention, but the very mode of Divine Creation.
• Human language is but a shadow and a fragment of that vast "Divine Language."

The structure is thus: God Speaks → The Universe Emerges. Man Speaks → Things Change (a finite reflection of the original creative mechanism).

This is the heart of the Logos: Language is inherently creative because the universe itself was fashioned by "Sacred Speech."

III. "Light" as the Mathematical Point: The Primary Logical Structure

For four centuries, modern science has grappled with a fundamental mystery:

• Why is the universe describable by mathematics?
• Why do mathematical constants hold these specific values?
• Why can human reason comprehend nature?
• Why is the universe computable and predictable?

Physics calls this the "Mathematical Point" or the "Logical Singularity." Philosophy calls it the "Paradox of Cosmic Intelligibility." From a theological vantage: God’s "Speaking" is not a sound, but a creative logical structure.

In other words: God’s words are themselves mathematical structures. Therefore:

• Mathematics is not invented by man; it is discovered.
• Mathematics is a fragment of the shattered Logos (God’s Language).
• The Universe is the Logos unfolded in its entirety.

"Mathematics is the fragment of God’s Language; the Universe is the unfolding of God’s Language."

This explains what science cannot: why the constants are "just right" and why the world is intelligible. The universe was created by logical structure from the very outset. God Speaks → Logic Unfolds → Mathematical Structure → Spacetime is Born → Matter Forms → Man Eventually Understands.

IV. The Mathematical Point: The Origin of Light and the Cosmic Singularity

There is a final, often overlooked layer to "Let there be light." God’s command was not just an instruction for light to appear, but the emergence of a fundamental Mathematical Structural Point.

This is what physics calls the Singularity:

• It is not matter;
• It is not energy;
• It is a perfectly concentrated mathematical structure.

It has no volume or space, yet it contains the latent order of the entire universe. In short, the first step of "Let there be light" was the appearance of this mathematical structure. This point is the origin of Light—the "first coordinate" where Light moves from invisible logic into manifest expansion.

From this point:

• Light is activated as the fundamental cosmic element;
• Spacetime begins to unfurl according to the speed of light;
• The universe moves from a point-like logic into an extended dimension.

• The Language of Physics: The Singularity expands into spacetime;
• The Language of Theology: Light is released from the point of the Logos;
• The Language of Mathematics: A structural point unfolds into a set of cosmic equations.

They unify into one truth: "God said, Let there be light" = God created a mathematical structural point → This point became the origin of Light → Light constructed Spacetime → Spacetime carries the formation of the entire Universe.

Light is not a beam appearing out of nothing; it is the cosmic framework erupting from a mathematical point.

Therefore, "Let there be light" is the beginning of the universe, the beginning of language, and the beginning of mathematics. It is the Singularity of an ordered Cosmos. The entire universe is but the result of this Divine Prompt being unfolded, layer by layer.
