Chapter 23 | Practicing Starting from Small Things
Section 1 | Why You Must Verify Starting from Small Things
In all the previous chapters, we have finished explaining all the steps of "Divine Success Study":
We have explained how God works from His perspective; analyzed why we easily get stuck and why we easily fail from a human perspective; and further pointed out the natural conflict between the "Ego Mode" and "God’s Engineering."
However, to truly understand all of this, theory alone is not enough.
The core of Success Engineering lies not in "knowing," but in "experiencing."
There are three key reasons behind this:
1. Knowledge and Action Must Be Unified: Knowledge is the Beginning of Action; Action is the Completion of Knowledge
To understand how God works, it is impossible to stay only at the conceptual level;
You must personally experience the way He works.
The ancients already saw this clearly:
"What is learned from paper feels shallow in the end; to truly understand this matter, one must practice it personally." The philosophy of Wang Yangming summarized it even more precisely:
"Knowledge is the beginning of action; action is the completion of knowledge."
This means:
What you understand is only the beginning of action; only by acting it out is your "knowledge" considered complete.
Any principle of success study, psychology, or theology can be spoken beautifully like poetry;
But only when you "act it out"
Does your heart truly "know."
- "Knowledge" gives you direction;
- "Action" allows your heart to truly believe.If you do not enter into "Action," you will forever stay within concepts.
2. The Subconscious Can Only Be Updated Through Experience, Not Through Knowledge
From a psychological perspective:
- The subconscious will not be "persuaded";
- The subconscious can only be changed by "experience that looks real";
- The subconscious does not accept concepts; it only accepts experiences.
This means: no matter how beautiful the theory or how moving the words, they cannot directly change the subconscious.
It must be through practice—
Allowing real events to happen to gradually replace the patterns of the old subconscious.
Only when the subconscious is truly updated
Will all the steps you learned earlier—
- Prayer
- Handing over
- Submission
- Waiting
- Receiving—become truly effective.Otherwise, theory remains theory, and the subconscious still controls you using old patterns.
3. To Upgrade Success Study from "Inspirational Study" to "Engineering," It Must Be Verifiable and Reproducible
Most past success studies were more like psychological suggestions, story inspirations, or spiritual pep talks.
They sound very passionate, but they lack verifiability.
But the "Divine Success Study" we are constructing now
Aims to upgrade success study from "Inspiration" to a Science of Success Engineering. The standard of science is: Verifiability.
The standard of engineering is: Reproducibility.
Therefore, all principles and steps of Divine Success Study must satisfy three points:
- It can be verified;
- It can be reproduced;
- It can continuously obtain feedback through "small experiments."
God’s way of working is experienceable, testable, and can be continuously confirmed.
The Core of This Chapter: Turning Concepts into Engineering
This is why this chapter enters the most critical step of the entire system:
——Starting from small things, through verifiable small experiments, to implement Divine Success Study from a concept into engineering.
Because:
- Small things are the easiest to verify;
- Small things are best for training the subconscious;
- Small things allow you to see Grace the fastest;
- Small things are best for building a chain of confidence;
- Small things are best for making "Knowledge" truly become "Action."
When you experience God in small things, your subconscious is updated; when your subconscious is updated, you can carry greater Grace in big things.
This is the path Jesus gave us—starting everything from the smallest place.
