Chapter 25 | How to Maintain belief: Daily Cultivation Methods: Daily Cultivation Methods

In the previous chapter, we emphasized how "continuous small Graces in small things" can gradually update the subconscious, preparing it to carry true success. But a question follows:

What if it is not a small thing that can be verified immediately?

A truly breakthrough success often requires a long time to manifest. In this long process, how do we maintain confidence?

Even with the fulfillment of small things, if we cannot solve the core problem of "maintaining confidence," then after a period of time, the Ego will re-take control over the power of interpretation.

It will use new narratives to re-interpret those Graces—

It might say it was merely "selective memory";

It might emphasize the "parts that were asked for but not obtained";

It might ignore the better things God has already bestowed elsewhere.

Therefore, whether in big things or small things,

The greatest secret of Divine Success Study, and also the most difficult thing, remains only one: How to maintain long-term confidence.

When we read the Bible, we find that in the Gospels, what Jesus spoke about most was "Faith";

And the foundation of the miracles He performed was consistently only one: Believing. The more one believes in Jesus, the greater the Grace one can receive.

For example:

  • The woman who touched Jesus’s clothes was immediately healed of her illness; Jesus said to her: "Daughter, go in peace; your faith has healed you."
  • When the centurion’s servant was ill, he sent people to say: "Master, I myself can dispatch soldiers to do things. You are the Son of God. You do not need to come personally; just say the word, and my servant will be healed." Jesus responded: "Let it be done according to your faith."
  • Yet in His own hometown, because the people did not believe in Him, "He could not do many miracles there."

Faith is the foundation of miracles;

But faith is also the most difficult.

Jesus performed so many miracles—making the blind see; making the lame walk;

Casting out demons, healing the sick; even raising the dead—

Yet still, many people did not believe in Him.

Even those who had seen the miracles with their own eyes still did not believe in Him.

Even His apostles felt fear when they saw Jesus walking on the sea;

And Peter, even more so, denied the Lord three times before the rooster crowed.

In other words,

Even those who walked with Jesus were constantly stumbling in "maintaining confidence."

How much more so for us?
