9.1 | Why is Faith in Jesus the Only Effective Gateway
Chapter 9 | Why is Faith in Jesus the Only Effective "Gateway to Rewriting Destiny"?
We have established that we must rely on a Power higher than ourselves. But who is this Power? Every civilization claims a different supreme authority; even psychology and successology acknowledge a "Universal Rule." But are they truly the same? Do they intervene in the human world? Do they care about your specific fate?
If a Supreme Power is the architect of the Universal Law, was your original "predestination" not His will? If it was, why would He change it for you—an ordinary, "non-predestined" individual? Does your plea carry any weight? Is He a distant observer, or a God who makes personal promises to the common man?
If there is a Power willing to promise that everyone can succeed and help us at any time, who is He?
The Retiring High God
"Heaven and Earth are not humane; they treat all things as straw dogs." — Tao Te Ching
This is perhaps the most misunderstood verse in the Tao Te Ching. It does not mean the Heavens are cruel; it means that Heaven and Earth do not alter the laws of operation based on individual suffering, prayers, or morality. The Tao is the Order itself, and the Order makes no exceptions.
Most "High Gods" across cultures are independent of the specific operations of the world. They created the laws, but they do not descend to interfere. In Hebrew, the word for God as Creator and Guardian of Order is Elohim. He is the spirit behind all things, and His will is expressed through the unchangeable laws of the universe. He is the "Retiring High God"—He created the scripts, and He does not edit them for the actors.
Let us examine the gods of the world:
- Taoism: The Tao is the source of all things and governs through "Non-action" (Wu Wei). But the Tao makes no promises to rewrite the life script of a failure or to "break the rules" for an individual. Those who align with the Tao prosper; those who don't, fail.
- Buddhism: The core logic is Karma—self-responsibility. Even a Buddha cannot bear your karma or clear your causal debts for you. The "Saving from Suffering" of Guanyin is a responsive compassion, often reserved for those already "destined" to be saved. Buddhism offers no "collective atonement."
- Hinduism (Brahman): Brahman is the cosmic essence, but the universe operates under the laws of Samsara and Caste. There is no promise to break these rules for an ordinary man.
- Islam (Allah): Allah is the absolute Sovereign—a Judge and Legislator. He is Almighty but unchallengeable. Islam emphasizes Submission (Islam), not a God who pays a price for man.
This aligns with Spinoza’s Natural Law: God is Nature. Nothing is accidental. Everything flows necessarily from God’s nature. There is no "plan" or "reward" in the human sense; nature doesn't care what you want.
The Despair of the Script
This is why I say success is predestined. God (Elohim) created the universe, and our scripts were written before we took the stage—manifested through our genetic and memetic heritage. For those with a "bad script," this is devastating.
In a forest, it is fine for some to be oaks and others to be mushrooms. The mushroom is not "less happy" than the tree. Human pain arises when our Memes convince every mushroom and shrub that they must become an oak to be happy.
Yet, man is the spirit of all things. We are a species of infinite experience. We feel we must achieve our desires before we can truly be ourselves. We need to be the "oak" in our minds before we can settle into being the "shrub."
Therefore, humanity requires a God who is willing to rewrite the foundational destiny of all mankind, especially for those who were not "pre-selected." In religious terms, we need someone to atone for our "sins"; in psychological terms, we need someone to heal the errors and darkness formed in our early subconscious.
We need a God who will violate Natural Law on our behalf.
Is there such a God?
