III. NLP: Finding the Direction, but Stuck at the "Repair Layer"

Compared to the previous two, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a system that truly seeks the "path of internal change." The value of NLP lies in:

  • Identifying the source of the problem: Internal structure determines behavior, and behavior determines results.
  • Providing a vast array of learnable and trainable techniques:
    • Linguistic suggestion
    • Reframing thoughts
    • Mental imagery exercises
    • Emotional shifting
    • Subconscious intervention

This is a methodology that solves problems through "psychological engineering." Compared to traditional successology and the Law of Attraction, NLP possesses the highest technical content and the strongest operability.

However, problems arise here as well: Can the changes brought by NLP endure?

The techniques of NLP are more like:

  • Painkillers
  • Surgical repairs
  • Localized psychological adjustments

Yet, it fails to answer deeper, more fundamental questions:

  • Why do these "negative thoughts" recur repeatedly?
  • Why do our values create obstructions?
  • Why does our internal structure become easily distorted?
  • Can we maintain long-term health relying solely on ourselves?
  • Even if the interior improves, is success guaranteed to arrive?

In essence: NLP repairs the walls but fails to fix the foundation. It can improve your state, but it cannot change "who you become."
